M2RF Firmware

Firmware Update Instructions:

Follow these steps the very first time you use the adapter:

  1. Download the firmware:
Download the firmware .zip file below. After unzipping, you’ll get a firmware file with a .BIN extension (e.g., Megadap M2RF Ver1.1.4.BIN).
  2. Connect the adapter to your computer:
Use the original magnetic data cable to connect the M2RF adapter to your computer. A drive named “M2RF DFU” will appear on your computer.
  3. Copy the firmware file to the drive:
Drag and drop (or copy and paste) the .BIN file into the “M2RF DFU” drive. The system will automatically complete the firmware installation within 5 seconds.
  4. Notes on the update process:
    Windows:
Once installation is complete, the drive will automatically reload — this indicates the update was successful, and you can then manually eject the drive.

    Mac:
During installation, Finder may show an error message such as “Finder cannot complete the operation…”. This message can be ignored — the firmware has already been written successfully. Simply eject the drive manually.

    Version verification:
You can check the current firmware version in the README file on the drive, or via the “Lens Firmware” option in the camera menu.

  2. Fixed a compatibility issue where, on the Canon C50 in video mode, the adapter’s motor would overshoot and fail to retract. (This issue does not affect other camera models.)
